What must my website legally disclose?

Short answer

In Germany, section 5 of the Digital Services Act (DDG) sets out provider information duties for business websites. The required details must be easy to recognise, directly accessible and permanently available. Which details apply in your case depends on factors such as your legal form and line of business.

What you can check now

  • Link your legal notice permanently and where people can find it.
  • Check your name, address, email and legal form against your current company details.
  • Add professional, register or VAT details only if they apply to you.
